Research on College English Teaching Reform Strategies Based on Ideological and Political Curriculum

Abstract

"Curriculum ideology and political education" is the mail Chanel for colleges and universities to implement the requirements of cultivating students’morality and talents. As one of the compulsory courses of tertiary education, college English course plays an important role to carry out ideological and political education. The Guidelines for College English Teaching (2020 edition) has clearly put forward the task of ideological and political construction in college English courses. Therefore, it is imperative to reform college English curriculum under the background of ideological and political curriculum. This paper, taking reform carried out by the College English Teaching team of Beijing Institute of Printing as an example, discusses the reform strategy of college English teaching under the background of ideological and political teaching in the new era. The college English teaching team in BIGC take provocative reforms. They update teaching curriculum, enhance teachers’comprehensive ability through constant training, integrate Ideological and Political Education into College English Teaching effectively, create new cultivating mode with the support of internet, and make reforms on the way of evaluation. All these measures help to benefit the overall teaching and learning. Hopefully, the reform taken by BIGC will shed the light on the field of College English teaching under the background of ideological and political Education.
